Jacksonville - Funeral service for James A. Chandler, 74, will be Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Asberry Baptist Church with the Rev. William Cain officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church today from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Mr. Chandler died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Phillips Chandler, of Jacksonville; two daughters, Tammy (Dwayne) Kimberly and Susan (J.J.) Parris; four sons, Randy Chandler, Greg (Heidi) Morgan, Grant (Peggy) Morgan and Scottie Chandler; one brother, Hayward Chandler; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be "The Grandsons", Justin Chandler, Barry Chandler, Aubrey Morgan, Gregory Morgan, Justin Garrard, Cody Garrard, Dalton Crow and Steven O'Conner. Mr. Chandler owned and operated Chandler Egg Farm. He had a passion for painting of all kinds and in his spare time he loved to paint ceramics, saw blades and oil paintings. He enjoyed watching Gospel music on TV, especially the Gaithers. Mr. Chandler was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Nellie Chandler; one daughter, Nellie Mae Chandler; one brother, Albert Chandler; a granddaughter and her husband, Callie and "Bean" Fain; and three great-grandchildren, Hailey, Nicholas and Zachary.
