Funeral service for James Adrin Ivey, 84, will be today, October 11, 2015, at 6 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Isreal and the Rev. William Cain officiating. The committal service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 5 - 6 p.m. Mr. Ivey passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Survivors include three children, David (Kim) Ivey, of Piedmont, Cathy (Ron) Young, of Hokes Bluff and Barry (Lora) Ivey, of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Leslie (Blake) Morrison, Allyson Ivey and Elijah Ivey; one brother, Travis (Jo) Ivey and three brothers-in-law, Norris (Linda Sue) Warren, Tim (Patti) Warren and Rick Warren. Mr. Ivey was a resident of Piedmont all of his life, was a member of Dailey Street Baptist Church and was a U.S.Army Korean War veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elderene Warren Ivey; parents, Jim and Roxie Ivey and a brother, Hobert Ivey. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions to Dailey Street Baptist Church, 106 S. Church Street, Piedmont, AL 36272.
