A memorial service for Dr. James Arden Reynolds, 72, will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel in Jacksonville with Deacon Mike Cova officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for two hours prior to the service. Mr. Reynolds died Saturday, February 28, 2015 in his daughter's home in Huntsville, AL. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Diane Aldredge Reynolds, of Lineville, Ala.; a daughter, Leigh Reynolds Willhelm, of Huntsville; a son, Sammy Reynolds, of Fitzgerald, Ga.; grandchildren, Marisa Reynolds, Gabby Willhelm, Austin Reynolds and Bryce Willhelm; three brothers, Ron Reynolds, Dick Reynolds and Phil Reynolds; sister, Mary Kay Smith. A native of Atlanta, Ga., Dr. Reynolds was a graduate of the University of Georgia and worked as a professor of Physical Education at Jacksonville State University for many years. He was an avid runner, a huge Georgia Tech fan, and a faithful volunteer in his church and community. Jim spent his retirement years on Lake Wedowee with his beloved wife and loved spending holidays and summers with the children and grandchildren at the lake house. The family wishes to thank all the friends and family that have been part of Jim's life. Jim served loyally with the food ministry at St Mark's despite his advancing Parkinson's.
