James "Jim" Casper Ligon, 89, died Friday, May 12, 2017 at Stringfellow Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, May 16, 2017, at Bethel North Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Morris and the Rev. Ronnie Adams officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include wife, Dorothy East Ligon, of Delta; daughter, Sabrina (Larry) Stanley, of Delta; son, James Keith Ligon, of Delta, son, Arty (Sheila) Ligon, of Delta; brother, Wilbur Ligon, of Heflin, brother, David Ligon, of Delta; six grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bradley Porteous, Riley Ligon, River Ligon, Kenneth Bonner, Cole Young, Randall Kellum, Brian Ligon, and Ronald Ligon. Mr. Ligon was a native and lifelong resident of Cleburne County and member of Bethel North Baptist Church. He was employed at M & H Valve for 42 years.
