The Rev. James Donald "Don" Ashley, 70, died Thursday, November 20, 2014, at the Randolph Hospice House. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Liberty Road Baptist Church, 2179 WOW Rd., Randleman with the Rev. Don Collins and the Rev. Wesley Price officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A celebration of life gathering will follow the interment in the Family Life Center at the church. The Rev. Ashley was born in Anniston on December 10, 1943 to Raymond and Loandel Currly Ashley. He was the minister and founder of Liberty Road Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Kathren Payne Ashley. Don was active with "Jim's Kids" and other committees. He loved going on cruises and his old cars. He is survived by his daughters, Jacqueline Willis and husband, Harvey, of Seagrove, Bridget Harris and husband, Kevin, of Asheboro; son, Don Ashley Jr. and wife, Amy, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Willie Spencer and wife, Amy, Michael Spencer and wife, Amanda, Franklin Willis and wife, Brandy, Tiffany Blackburn and Zachary Harris; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Jane Stacks and husband, George, of Jacksonville, Fla. and brother, Grady Lewis and wife, Cindy, of Jacksonville, Florida. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 23, 2014, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, N.C.
