A memorial service with full military honors for James Edward Shank, 70, will be held Wednesday October 7, 2015, at 11 a.m. EST at the First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange, Ga. with the Rev. Bill Conine officiating. Mr. Shank died Friday October 2, 2015, at Noland Hospital of Anniston, Alabama. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Teresa Sue Shank, of Manchester, Ga.; three sons, Hieu Le, of Falls Church, Va., James Andrew Shank, of Chelsea, Mass. and Jason Alan Shank, of Manchester, Ga.; three brothers, Gary Shank, of Pittsburgh, Pa., David Shank, of Columbus, Ga. and Terry Shank, of Nitro, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Shank was a native of Charleston, West Virginia and was employed with Griggs Foods for over 20 years. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force which included two tours in Vietnam where he was a POW for a short time. He was the recipient of two Purple Hearts for injuries received in combat.
