The funeral service for Mr. James Fred Moore, 84, will be held today, July 2, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Forestlawn Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Amy Dewitte and Dan Brown officiating. Mr. Moore passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Piedmont Health Care Center. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Stewart Holland Moore. A native of Anniston, Mr. Moore had been a member of the First United Methodist Church of Anniston since April 14, 1957. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy, where he earned the Korea Service Medal. He was retired from Anniston Army Depot. Mr. Moore loved his family dearly and he was most passionate about spending time with them. Survivors include his daughters, Theresa Moore Johns and her husband, Danny, of Ohatchee and Pam Moore Torruella and her husband, Chuck, of Jacksonville; son, James Fred Moore Jr., of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Christie Crider and her husband, Keith, Jennifer Torruella, Emily Torruella, Krista Reister and her husband, A.J., Daniel Moore, Taylor Moore, Kaylyn Moore and Leigha Moore; five great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Moore Norman and her husband, Mike, of Denver, Colo.; brother, Charles Edward Moore, of Jacksonville and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Anniston, PO Box 1789, Anniston, AL 36202.
