The funeral service for Mr. James Harold Williams, 93, will be at 12 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with Dr. Roland Brown officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Williams passed away on June 13, 2017 at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation. Mr. Williams was a native of Randolph County. He served his country with honor as a member of the United States Army during World War II and was attached to the 3rd Army under General Patton. He served in Adrennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe, and was awarded the American Theater Service Medal, the EAME Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Occupation Medal. He was a member of Golden Springs Baptist Church in Anniston. Mr. Williams was also a retired Civil Service employee from Ft. McClellan. He was a Mason and has once served as Worshipful Master at Saints John Lodge No. 931. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, LeMerle N. Williams, and his parents, Dock and Lera Williams. He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn W. Moore, of Anniston, and Janet (Mike) Adcock, of Sharpsburg, Ga.; a son, Jimmy (Cindy) Williams, of Trussville; three grandchildren, Lauren Moore (Matt) Scotch, of Houston, TX, Anna Kathryn Moore (Travis) Pierce, of Hong Kong, Hayden Williams, of Trussville, Matt (Amy) Adcock, of Atlanta, and Ryan (Kristi) Adcock, of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Michael and Wyatt Adcock and Rhodes Scotch; a sister, Sue Lee of Centre.
