Mr. James M. (Jimmy) Robertson, 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. Mr. Robertson was born July 21, 1933 in Cherokee County, Ala. and moved to Anniston in 1952. He was an active member of Oakridge Baptist Church in Blue Mountain, Ala. and was retired from Chicopee Mfg. Visitation will be today from 5:30 until 8 p.m. and the funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with the Rev. Norris Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Mr. Robertson is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Reagan Robertson; children, Larry (Faye) Robertson, Rhonda (Jim) Adcock, Teresa Robertson and Stephen (Jeannie) Robertson; grandchildren, Daniel (Jennifer) Robertson, Jeffrey (Bethany) Robertson, Selina (Matt) Miller, Paul (Amberly) Pogue, Jeanna (Todd) Chandler and Brandi (Ben) Hurston; great-grandchildren, Regan, Emily, Hannah and Caleb Robertson, Kameron Goodwin, Kinzley and Karson Miller, Kayleigh and Railynn Pogue, Chase and Rian Chandler, Jakeb and Chance Gregory; his brother, Joe Robertson; his sisters, Helen Eason and Melba Matthews; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be Daniel Robertson, Jeffrey Robertson, Paul Pogue, Kameron Goodwin, Todd Chandler and Ben Hurston. Honorary pallbearers will be all the musicians in the various bands. Mr. Robertson performed with or lead in the past sixty years. Mr. Robertson was currently the leader of Jimmy Robertson & the Roustabouts, playing at nursing homes, assisted living facilities and Senior Adult dances. He also loved playing gospel music and serving the Lord at Oakridge Baptist Church where he was baptized on November 21, 2004.
