Memorial service for James Maylon Forbus, 86, will be Saturday, March 15 at 2 p.m. at Betta View Hills Church of Christ with John Ross officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 1 p.m. at the church. Mr. Forbus passed away February 28 at his residence. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Thelma Capri Forbus, of Anniston; his daughter, Sandy Forbus, of Anniston; his son, Brian Forbus (Alicia), of Oxford; a grandson, Trey Forbus, of Oxford; three sisters, Inaree Carden, of Anniston, Pat Thrasher (Bryan), of Anniston and Virginia Cole of Pace, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Forbus is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Velma Forbus and two sisters ,Doris Morrison and Joyce Rogers. Mr. Forbus was a native and resident of Anniston. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. He was owner/operator of Anniston Shoe Hospital until 1977, he retired from FMC/BAE Systems in 1993. He was of the Methodist faith. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that blood be given in his honor or that other donations be made to the Red Cross. Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
