Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel for James Terry Jr., 96, who passed away on January 24, 2016. Bro. Billy Masters will officiate. Burial will follow at Forrest Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery is in charge of the services. James was a member of St. Michael's and All Angels in Anniston. He was a WWII Veteran who served in the US Army with tours in New Guinea and the South Pacific. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Disable American Veterans and the Gadsden Antique Auto Club. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Rooks Terry; parents, JA and Florence Bittle Terry; sisters, Ruth Terry, and Geraldine St. Jermaine and brothers, Rush Terry and Wallace Terry. He is survived by his sons, Roland B. (Judy) Terry and James Byron Terry; sister, Reba T. Haywood; brother, Roscoe G. (Joyce) Terry; caregiver, Jeanette (Paul) Gilbert and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be members of the Gadsden/Etowah Patriots Association. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 2802, Gadsden, Al. 35903. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
