Funeral service for James Thomas Maye, 79, will be Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Jones officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Mr. Maye was a life-long resident of Anniston and passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016. He had a passion for cars and fishing. He could be found in his automotive shop almost every day working on the cars he loved, and when he could get away, there is nothing he enjoyed more than fishing. Thomas was born on October 7, 1936, and is survived by Betty Shadrix, his wife and companion for 36 years; son, Frankie Maye; grandson, Jayden Shadrix; brothers and sisters, Donald Maye, Gail Maye, Ann Johnson and Sherry Champion; step-sons, their wives, and step- grandsons, Eddie Shadrix (Becky), Rickey Shadrix, Steve Shadrix (Terri), Jason Shadrix and Caleb Shadrix. Thomas's generosity, love, and kindness will be sincerely missed by all. You could always count on Thomas to help family or friends alike. Pallbearers will be Ricky Kilgore, Jerry Kaylor, Ryan Crowson, Jayden Shadrix, Jason Shadrix, Caleb Shadrix, Todd Williams and Jimmy Fisher.
