James Turner Coleman, 70, passed away August 14, 2015 at his home. Jim was born in Anniston on July 21, 1945, to the late Frank and Edith Coleman. His dad passed on his love of baseball to Jim and later they enjoyed many years of golf together on "The Hill". He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Anniston. Jim was retired from Talladega County Board of Education, having served as Principal of Munford High School for eleven years and Drew Middle School in Lincoln for seven years. After retiring in 1994, Jim continued to encourage students and help them attend college. He also avidly supported The Animal Shelter in Anniston. Jim is survived by his wife of 42 years, Penny, of Oxford; a sister, Gail Hubbard; nieces, Leslie Olsen and Andrea Brewer; one great-niece and four great-nephews, all of Georgia. At Jim's request, no formal visitation or service will be held. If you wish to honor his memory, a memorial gift may be made to The Animal Shelter, 1201 Parkwood Drive, Anniston, AL 36201. A special thanks to all of Jim's friends who kept up with him over the years. He cherished all of you. Online condolences may be made to Jim's family at www.klbrownmemorychapel.com. K.L.
