Huntsville - James W. Hill, 71, passed away on March 25, 2013. Jim was born in Lineville, Ala., to William Curtis Hill and Marguerite Hill. He enjoyed a happy childhood with three siblings, his Granny, Mattie Lee Mitchell, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force and later with AAFES, the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. His assignments took him nationwide and throughout the Pacific. Jim was deeply devoted to his family and friends, and was happiest when spending time with them. He enjoyed family genealogy research and was a huge Crimson Tide football fan. With his wife, Linda, he was an involved traveler and avid photographer, creating fascinating movies of their many adventures. Jim's memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Linda; his son, Stephen; sisters, Peggy (Richard) Henderson and Jean (Wayne) Richardson; brother, Robert (Judy) Hill; five grandchildren; a host of relatives and scores of dear and caring friends. He will be greatly missed. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his previous wife, Marjorie and his son, David. Jim and his family are so very grateful for the loving care provided by Hospice Family Care. Sherri Lin made this difficult journey a joyful one; she is surely an angel sent by God.
