James "Jimmy" Wendell Harper, 55, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2017, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, Georgia. He was born February 16, 1961, in Florala. He graduated from Saks High School in Anniston. He was preceded in death by his father, Wendell P. Harper. He is survived by his mother, Vera J. Harper; his daughter, Brandie Harper Roberts; his sister, Kimberly Harper Minton; cousins, Eddy and Mary Smalley, and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A celebration of life gathering will be held in Alexandria on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Alexandria Community Center, 2065 Alexandria Wellington Road, from 9-12 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family online at mckoon.com. We are grateful for your thoughts and prayers during his battle with cancer. Jimmy was quick to smile, and was generous of spirit.
