A funeral service for Mrs. Janet Noah Stephens, 79, will be today, August 9, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with Dr. Deryl Wood officiating. Burial will be in Post Oak Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Stephens died on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at her residence. She is survived by her husband, John B. Stephens, of Jacksonville; her daughter, Belinda (Jonathan) Stephens Crenshaw, of Jacksonville; her son, Randall Stephens, of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Erin Caitlin Feiner, Kelsey Alexis Feiner, Garrett Stephens, Katy Stephens and Colton Stephens; three step grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Wynell Noah, of Jacksonville; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Crenshaw, David Troup, Scottie Boozer, Phillip Noah, Larry Troup and Brady Zellar. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Stephens' cousins and the Senior Adults Sunday school classes of Post Oak Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Stephens was a native and lifelong resident of Cedar Springs. She was a member of Post Oak Springs Baptist Church where she helped with VBS by creating molds and arts and crafts for all children involved. Mrs. Stephens was a compassionate and dedicated wife, mother, and "M-Maw" who loved unconditionally. In her spare time she loved to garden, pick flowers and herbs, and cook. Mrs. Stephens enjoyed being outdoors, doing all types of things, and never missed a moment spending time with her family. Every person that she met, in some way, felt influenced or touched by her wonderful personality and huge heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence John and Doris Louise McGinnis Noah; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John McGinnis and Mr. and Mrs. John F. Noah; several brothers, and numerous foster brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Amedysis Hospice of Rainbow City, 115 W Grand Avenue #70, Rainbow City, AL 35906.
