A memorial service for Janice Ann Phillips McLendon, 60, will be Monday, April 11, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with Bishop Leroy Austin officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. McLendon died Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her husband, Stephen D. McLendon, of Jacksonville; two daughters, Brandi McLendon, of Jacksonville and Stephanie Morey, of Seattle, Wash.; six grandchildren, Jazzmyn McLendon, Mak Curry, Caele Curry, Maleena Morey, Saydee Morey and Kayden Morey. Mrs. McLendon was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She worked in retail management for over thirty years and was a member of Angel Grove Baptist Church. She loved her children, grand children and her pet, Sally. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Mary Inez Phillips; a brother, Jimmy Wayne Phillips and a sister, Brenda Gail Robershaw. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gadsden Regional Medical Center and Southern Cardiovascular Associates for the excellent care they provided to Janice.
