Janice Smith Noble, 66, died July 17, 2014 at Druid Hospital in Tuscaloosa after a long illness. A Service of Death and Resurrection will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014, at florence First United Methodist Church with visitation from 1-3 p.m. in the Church Atrium. The Rev. Kelly Clem, the Rev. Robert Sparkman and the Rev. Melody Traylor will officiate. Burial will follow at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Central Heights Community. A visitation from 5-7 p.m. will be held today at the Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Jonathan Grady Smith and Virginia Jane Bromley; sister-in-law, Glenda Bentley Smith; nephew, Jonathan Smith; brother-in-law, Terry Lovelace and loving aunts and uncles. Survivors include her loving husband, Hal Noble, of Tuscaloosa, to whom she was a wonderful, supportive pastor's spouse for almost 26 years; daughter, Kristina Noble Berry (Eric), of Panama City, Fla.; son, Richard Lane Noble (Karin), of Hanford, Ca.; grandchildren, Ana, Isabel, Laila, Danny, Kyea and Preston; brothers, Grady Smith (Theresa), of Florence, Hugh Smith (Brenda), of Killen, Carl Smith (Denise), of Richmond, Texas; sisters, Elaine Lovelace, Central Heights and Kate Smith, of Florence; nephews, Scott Smith (Danielle), Christopher Smith, Mike Lovelace (Charlotte), Kenneth Lovelace, David Lovelace (Hope), nieces, Lindsay Smith Siddall (Lane), Cheryl Smith Wade (Steven); many very special friends who were the recipients of her thoughtful, oftentimes humorous notes. Janice was a 1965 graduate of Central High School, Central Alabama. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Auburn University and practiced for several years at Central Pharmacy and was relief pharmacist in the cities of Anniston, Tuscaloosa and Decatur. Janice and her husband, Hal, were married August 27, 1988. Janice was a dedicated spouse and mother who served her family and friends as an inspiration for living life through adversity with her use of humor and demonstrated perseverance. She will always be remembered for her with, her kindness to all and love of life for which she is held in the highest esteem and regard. Pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Haraway, Ken Nix, Harold Harmon, Tom Smith, Carl Smith and Jerry Thrasher. Honorary pallbearers will be United Methodist Clergy Spouses. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Janice's memory to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
