J.B. Scott was born November 12, 1929 in Belgreen (Franklin County) Ala., to Arlie and Arvie Nance Scott. He moved to Ohatchee, Ala. as a teen, entered Ohatchee High School where he met his future wife, Logene Bryant, they were married on November 22, 1950. Mr. Scott served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Afterwards, he worked at M&H Valve Plant, graduated from the Barber School in Mobile and he also Barbered at Ft. McClellan, Ohatchee, Alexandria and had his own shop at his home. He also retired as a County School Bus Driver in Alexandria. J.B. was an active member of Oak Bowery Baptist Church for many years where he served in many capacities, including deacon for 30 years active and 11 years as a deacon emeritus. J.B. was a cancer survivor for 21 years. Mr. Scott is survived by his wife of 64 years, Logene; son, Jeff Scott (Debbie); nephew, Larry Nunnally (Sondra); nieces, Joan Poss (Laney), Patsy Gaston, adopted canine, buddy Jack and special canine buddy Buster. Pallbearers will be Barry Nance, Anthony Crosson, Barry Bryant, Cory Bryant, Joseph Bryant and Mike Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Sunday School Class and the Deacons at Oak Bowery Baptist Church. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jewell Nunnally and Eleanor Williams. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Oak Bowery Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Funeral service for Mr. Scott will be 2 p.m. today May 10, 2016 at Oak Bowery Baptist Church with the Rev. Sam Fordam and the Rev. Whitt Hibbs officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Online condolences may be made at www.graybrownservice.com
