Memorial service for Jean Edmondson Thomas Mitchell will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 11 a.m. from Auslin's Chapel Methodist Church. Mrs. Mitchell passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Traylor's Retirement Center. Survivors include one daughter, Robin Vickery, of Wedowee; one grandchild, Stacey Carroll, of Birmingham; two great-grandchildren, Faith Carroll and Maddox Carroll; four sisters, Marie Cline, Sarah Wilson, and Elaine Blake, all of Wedowee and Penny Nicholls, of Birmingham; one brother, Rayford Edmondson, of Wedowee; and a host of nieces and nephews. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Mitchell was born on June 30, 1931, the daughter of Whit and Etta Formby Edmondson. She was a member of Auslin's Chapel Methodist Church and worked as a secretary for Cheaha Mental Health Center. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bert Mitchell; one sister, Joyce Ebert; and two brothers, Richard and Cecil Edmondson.
