A memorial service for Ms. Jeanette Kerley, 82, of Tampa, Florida, formerly of Lineville, will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with the Reverend Dorothy Ann Webster officiating. Ms. Kerley passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015, at Canterbury Towers in Tampa. She was born in Lineville on December 29, 1932 and graduated from Lineville High School Class of 1951. After graduating from Auburn University in 1957, she taught at Brandon (Florida) High School for several years, then established her own interior design firm, Interdesign Incorporated, which she operated in Tampa from 1976 until 1997. Ms. Kerley was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lineville, the American Society of Interior Design and was an avid Auburn fan and member of the Tampa Bay Auburn Club. She is survived by six cousins, Barbara Wallace, of Anniston, Rosemary Wentz (Bobby), of Douglasville, Ga., Elaine Mendenhall (George), of Jacksonville, Eloise Samuels, of Lineville, Nancy Lee (Fred), of Huntsville and Allison Pennell, of North Carolina as well as many friends and other extended family members. Ms. Kerley was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Mildred Whatley Kerley; and one brother, Don Kerley. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Life Link Legacy Fund, 409 Bayshore Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33606 or to the church/.
