Mr. Jerry A. "Lonnie" Vaughn, 76, of Muscadine, Alabama passed away March 5, 2015 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Ala. He was born September 9, 1938 to the late James Malcolm Vaughn and Adrian Dodd Digby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Moore and Peggy Welsh; brother, James "Buck" Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn was a graduate of the University of Alabama and was retired from Kimberly Clark Corporation. On January 13, 1957 he was ordained as a Deacon of Muscadine Baptist Church where he was an active member until his death. He was currently serving as the Chairman of the Cleburne County Water Authority and Commander of the American Legion in Heflin, Alabama. Mr. Vaughn was a 3rd Degree Master Mason and received his 50 year pin for Caldwell Lodge 502 in December of 2014. He was a Past Master of Caldwell Lodge 502, member of Scottish Rite, Shriner, a York Rite and a former Boy Scout Master. He also served in the US Army and on the Cleburne County Board of Education. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Gay Long Vaughn; daughter and son in law, Tawanna and Frank Gibson; grandchildren, David Vaughn Gibson and Dixie Louise Gibson, all of Muscadine; sisters and brothers in law, Jewel Ward, of Tallapoosa, Joyce and Jo Bill Conkle, of Micaville, Ala. and Lynda and Terry Stair, of Bessemer, Ala.; sister in law, Mamie Kilgore, of Muscadine; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted March 8, 2015 at 2 p.m. CST from Muscadine Baptist Church with the Rev. Chester Pesnell and the Rev. David Ginn officiating. Music was provided by Tawanna Gibson, Muscadine Church Choir, Connie Moore and Scott Ginn. Pallbearers serving were Barry Conkle, Elijah Conkle, Kerry Conkle, Dylan Crumpton, Howard Crumpton, David Gibson and Jimmy Moore. Interment followed in Muscadine Memory Garden with Masonic Graveside. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations to the Muscadine Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
