Mr. Jerry Cranston Barnett passed away on January 25, 2018 at Piedmont Health Care Center. A native of Piedmont and Calhoun County, Mr. Barnett was born on December 30, 1943 in Cullman, AL, the son of the late John and Belva Barnett of Piedmont. Survivors include a son: Gary Cranston Barnett; two granddaughters: Meagan Barnett (Daniel) and Ashley Barnett (Justin) and three great granddaughters, Trinity, Pheonix, and Alivia. Jerry was of the Christian faith and a graduate of Piedmont High School where he loved and played football. For a number of years, he was a member of the Lozahatchee Masonic Lodge. Prior to retirement he was a meat cutter for Wynn Dixie, Gregersons, and Walmart grocery stores. He also worked for and retired from Springs Industries and served and retired from the Alabama National Guard. A private family graveside service was held on January 26, 2018 at Highland Cemetery. Dansby Heritage was honored to serve the Barnett Family.
