Jesse Coleman "J. C." Pope passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. A memorial service was held Monday, December 29, 2014 at Dryden Funeral Home in Heflin, Alabama. J. C. was born in Haralson County, Georgia, on April 24, 1924, but resided in Heflin most of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Charles Pope; his brother, Hoyt Pope; and his parents, Albert and Bertha Pope. J. C. was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He worked at General Electric (GE) in Oxford until it closed at which time he went to work at Moore Business Forms in Heflin. He retired as Plant Manager of Moore in 1981. He was an artist and craftsman, an avid gardener, and a member of the Parker Woodcarvers. J. C. was also a member of the Golden Springs Baptist Church in Anniston. Survivors include two daughters, Janet Turner, of Heflin and Sheila Tolleson (Ricky), of Bremen, Georgia; three grandchildren, Stacy Littleton (Wes), Leah Carver (Jay) and Ret Tolleson (Arielle); six great-grandchildren, Jacy, Jake, and Leyton Littleton, Ansley and Brooks Carver and Caroline Tolleson.
