Knoxville, TN - Mr. Jim Hammett, 71, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family Wednesday, May 22, 2013. He was a member of First Baptist Church Concord and the Antique Automobile Club of America. Jim loved his family, working on old cars, and Alabama football. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mildred Hammett. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dean Boyles Hammett; sons, Brian Hammett (Abbie), of Franklin, Tenn., Kevin Hammett (Diana), of Knoxville, and Cory Hammett (Courtney), of Dandridge, Tenn.; grandchildren, Mackenzie Madison, Carter, Claire, Harrison, Davis, Ansley, Lila, Judson, Maeve; and many other "ems". A celebration of Jim's life will be held today, May 24, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with his brother-in-law, the Rev. Larry Boyles officiating.
