Jimmy F. Haynie, 82, peacefully passed away after a long battle with Dementia on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at his home in Mount Pleasant, S.C. surrounded by his family. He was born on July 30, 1934 in Clay County. Jim was the second of five children born to Homer and Leona Haynie. As a young man, Jim served in the United States Air Force, and was stationed on the island of Okinawa during the end of the Korean conflict. He then attended Jacksonville State University where he met his future wife. In 1958 he married Jackie Gil breath. Jim worked for numerous companies as a general accountant in the Southeast, moving to the Charleston, S.C. area in 1980, where he was V.P. of Finance for Greer Drug Company. He later went on to hold various other accounting positions in the Charleston area. Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jackie Haynie. Jim was extremely loving and proud of his children, daughter, Jill Clearly, of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; son, Jimmy Haynie and his wife Angie, and their sons, Thomas (11) and Wilson (14), of Charlotte, N.C. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Maude. He is survived by his sisters, Jacqueline Denton and Jeannette Clark (Sonny), of Lineville, and a brother, Jerry Haynie (Mary Anne), of Jacksonville. He leaves behind multiple nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Funeral service will be privately held at Barfield Baptist Church in Clay County.
