Visitation for Joan M. Thompson, 82, will be Thursday January 7, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary. Mrs. Thompson passed away on Saturday at Jacksonville Health & Rehab. Survivors include two daughters, Julie Hope (Don) and Tina Smith (Brandon); sisters, Eunice Brooks and Evelyn Rhule; brother, Jimmy Newcomb (Blanca); grandchildren, Caryn Waugh (Jason), Nathan Smith (Farren), Joe Smith and Noah Smith; great- grandchildren, Dylan Pontero and Jace Waugh; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her mother, Irene Reese; brother, Harold Newcomb. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Right Place, PO Box 1061, Anniston, AL 36202 Mrs. Thompson was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County.
