Joe Elton Haynes was born into this world on January 10, 1933 the fifth of six children in the family of Farris and Bessie Haynes. Mr. Haynes passed from this earth on October 10, 2015 at the age of 82. Mr. Haynes is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jewel C. Haynes; a son, Joe F. (and Karen) Haynes, of Munford; two daughters, BeverlyHowell, of Hoover and Debbie (and Joe) Stewart, of Munford; five grandchildren, Joey (and Kristen) Haynes, Will (and Susan) Haynes, Ben (and Rebecca) Gallahair, Tim (and Amber) Gallahair and Summer Howell; 10 great-grandchildren, Kristen and Karley Stewart, Sadie and Sam Haynes, Landon, Sophie and Brooklyn Gallahair, John Thomas Haynes and Rylan and Rhett Gallahair; one brother, Herschel Haynes; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Farris and Bessie Haynes; two brothers, Ralph and Leon Haynes; two sisters, Mary Hardin and Eunice Dewey Tucker. Funeral service for Mr. Haynes will take place on today October 13, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Munford Church of Christ in Munford, Ala. with Ministers Jeff Clark, Shane Clark and Joey Haynes officiating. Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. in auditorium of the Munford Church of Christ on today prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Munford. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jimmy Wynn, Jimmy Gallahair, George Jackson and Jay Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Cooper, Johnny Cooper, Roy Bean Jr., Ted Calhoun and Ralph Haynes. Mr. Haynes worked as a route salesman for 42 years for Hart's, Merita and Flowers bread companies. He lived the majority of his life in Munford and was a longtime member of the Munford Church of Christ. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was a friend to many, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who loved God, his family and his friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank the doctors who have provided care for Mr. Haynes over the past few years, the Fresenious Dialysis service in Oxford for your excellent care and Oxford EMT for the way that you provided exceptional service in our time of need. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rainbow Omega (100 Hope Dr. Eastaboga, AL 36260) and at Mr. Haynes's request, please dress comfortably if you plan to attend the funeral.
