Funeral service for Joe T. Moore, 84, will be Sunday, January 26, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Howard and the Rev. Eugene Burgess officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Moore died Friday, January 24, 2014, at R.M.C. in Anniston. He is survived by his wife, Doris Moore, of Jacksonville; his son, Rev. Ronny Moore and wife, Sebrenia, of Alexandria; one brother, H.S. "Mickey" Moore Jr. and wife Carolyn, of Central, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Angie Moore, of Boaz; five grandchildren, Justin Moore, Chance (Alison) Moore, Jamie Stephens, Chad Moore and Bryant O'Donnell; nine great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be J.C. Cornelius, David Curvin, Larry Morris, Randy Rich, Jimmy Thornton and David Trantham. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Clemons, Sonny Thackerson and the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Men's Adult Sunday School Class. Mr. Moore was a longtime active member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Moore was a self-employed custom home builder and a brick mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, H.S. and Mary Moore; one son, Jimmy "Bo" Moore and one brother, Jimmy Moore.
