Funeral service for Joe Wayne Harris, 68, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014, at the 16th & Noble Street Church of Christ. Pastor Marvin Jones officiating with L. James Williams III, eulogist. Burial will follow in the Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery in Eastaboga with military honors. Mr. Harris will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service. Viewing will be today 1 - 7 p.m. at the Chapel. The Goodson Funeral Home, Inc. directing. Survivors include his wife, Lajoe Harris, of Anniston; sons, Brenton W. Harris (Deirdra), of Augusta, Ga., Cliffton W. Harris (Nicole), of Mableton, Ga., and Roderick Williams, of Atlanta, Ga.; daughters, Monique Pinkney (Mark Sr.) of Douglasville, Ga., LaJeana Williams, of Anniston; sisters, Joyce Williams (Loyial), of Arlington, Texas, and Eunice Davis (Johnny), of Atlanta, Ga.; brothers, Willie Gene Harris (Barbara), of Ohatchee and Tommy Wyms, of Los Angeles, Calif.; eight grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Gentry and Erma Z. Harris; daughter, Dorcas Williams; siblings, Gentry Harris Jr., Jewell Harris, George Harris, Lois Harris and Laverne Harris.
