Funeral service for John Alvin Stubbs Sr., 79, will be noon on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at the Haven United Methodist Church where the Rev. James E. Gresham is pastor and the Rev. Watt T. Washington officiating. Interment will follow at Edgemont Cemetery. Masonic Rites will be this evening 6 - 8 p.m. at the Russell H. Williams Memorial Chapel. Mr. Stubbs remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his service. Mr. Stubbs passed away on November 8, 2014 at Regional Medical Center. Mr. Stubbs was a member of Haven United Church, Retired Anniston Police Officer, member and Past Worship Mastor of Jackson Pride Lodge #662 and Past Patron of Ideal Friends OES #118. Survivors include his wife, Carrie H. Stubbs, of Anniston; daughter, Kathy Allen, of Cedar Town, Ga.; sons, Daniel Stubbs (Svondai), of Mobile and John A. Stubbs Jr. (Ramona), of Anniston; siblings, Gwendolyn (William) Moore, Willie Ruth Butler and Charles E. (Gail) Stubbs; 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
