John Edward Jordan III, 73, passed away on August 20, 2014 at Gadsden RMC. At Ed's request, there will be no service. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Jordan; his daughter, Holly Jordan; his sisters, Nancy J. (Ralph) Chabot and Martha J. Scott; his sister-in-law, Karen VanCleave; and his brother-in-law, Andrew Howell. Ed, as well as his twin brother, Bob, was born in Sylacauga and came to Jacksonville to open the Dari-Delite and attend college. He held a B.S. degree in Accounting and an MBA from JSU. He worked for the FBI, the Northeast Alabama Police Academy and Am South Security. Ed wrote the successful grant application to acquire the city's first ambulance and was the city's first paramedic. He was a Firefighter/EMT for twenty years and served two terms on the Jacksonville City Council. Ed was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Jordan. In lieu of flowers or food, the family asks that people help others in any way they can. Ed will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
