Funeral services for Mr. John Phillip Pierson, 53, of Iron City, will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Reverend Eric Snider officiating. Burial will follow at Iron City Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Pierson passed away on July 21, 2015 after a long bout with cancer at CTCA SE Regional Medical Center in Newnan, Georgia. Mr. Pierson grew up in Alabaster and had lived in Calhoun County for almost 20 years. He loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. He had previously worked at Designer Checks and was currently a Maintenance Supervisor at Multimetco. Mr. Pierson is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Regina Pierson; his father, William Earl Pierson and his sister, Teresa Diane Perry. Mr. Pierson is survived by his daughter, Amanda Leigh Pierson, of Iron City; his mother, Hazel Blevins, of Alabaster; two brothers, Joseph Earl Pierson, of Adger and Cecil Edward Pierson, of Alabaster; his beloved pets, Lulu and Sawyer and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southeastern Assistance in Healthcare, 600 Celebrate Life Parkway, Newnan, GA 30265. Online condolences may be made to the family at K.L.
