Mrs. Johnnie O. Hicks, great- grandmother to ten, grandmother to four, mother of two and faithful servant to the ONE whose face she is beholding tonight. "The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord." Job 1:21b A graveside service for Mrs. Johnnie O. Hicks, 87, will be at 4 p.m. today, Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Plum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Josh Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 - 3 p.m. today at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. Mrs. Hicks passed away on September 25, 2015 at NE Alabama Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Hicks was a lifelong resident of Eastaboga. She was a member of Plum Springs Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, bible school, served on the tape ministry and volunteered with the nursing home ministry. She was always willing to help others. She loved the Lord, her family and her community. "Miss Johnnie" was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Hicks is preceded in death by her husband, Malcoln D. Hicks; her mother and father, Carrie Hutto O'Kelley and John S. O'Kelley; siblings, Frances Moore, Troy O'Kelley, Jack O'Kelley and Lawrence O'Kelley and a great- grandchild, Judah Lewis. She is survived by her daughters, Carrie Robison (Randall) and Mary Crouch (Richard); four grandchildren, Christopher Robison (Dawn), Keri Putman (Keith), Allison Lewis (Josh) and Bethany Hindman (Bailey) and ten beloved great-grandchildren, Abigail, Jack, Isabel, Micah and Julia Lewis, Brayden, Emma and Samantha Hindman, Kamryn Robison and Cara Gauldin. Pallbearers will be Chris Robison, Keith Putman, Kelly Moore, Brian Moore, Gregg Moore and Allen George. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Hicks would be honored if you would contribute to one of her favorite charities: Samaritan's Purse, The Salvation Army, or Plum Springs Baptist Church.
