Service for Johnny Paul Hardy, 82, will be today March 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Brother Roger Boyd of Virginia officiating. Burial will follow in the Jacksonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 11 -1 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Hardy passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation. Survivors include his sisters and brother, Grace Pinkston, Joyce Parker, Barbara Key, Delana Hardy, Troy Hardy (Mary), Carolyn Smith (Vernon) and Reeta Golden; 15 nieces and nephews which includes his loving caregivers for the past 21 years, Melinda and Barry Davidson. Pallbearers will be Preston Barnwell, Scott Parker, Dennis Parker, Clint Brown, Dustin Brown, Timothy Brooks, Timmy Pinkston, Shane Hardy and Jeffrey Golden. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Key and Mike Barnwell. Mr. Hardy was a native and resident of Jacksonville and was of the Holiness faith. He retired from M & H Valve Company in Anniston. He loved his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Barnwell Hardy; two daughters, Paula Kay Hardy and Sherry Hardy; and his parents, Preston and Mattie Hardy. www.thompsonfuneralhomepiedmont.com
