Funeral service for Joseph M. Christopher, 74, will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. W.S. Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery. Mr. Christopher will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church. Public viewing will be held today from 1 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Goodson Funeral Home, Inc. directing. Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Ann Christopher, of Anniston; two daughters, Sharon Christopher, of Anniston and Vicky (Rydell) Ervin, of Oxford; one son, Wendell (Sherry) Christopher, of Elk Grove, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Tamara Christopher, Tenisha Christopher, Rokeya Christopher and Paul Christopher, all of Anniston, Chevez (Bianca) Christopher, of Oxford, Arionna Christopher, Helen Christopher, of Elk Grove, Calif.; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Annie (Willie) Elston, Corrine Christopher, Mary (Garnett) Jackson, Rue (Vernon) Powell, all of Anniston; one brother, Nathaniel (Barbara) Christopher, of Jacksonville, one sister-in-law, Betty Johnson, of Anniston; three brothers-in-law, Darrick English, of Oxford, Robert (Mary) Johnson, of Charlotte, N.C., Billy (Annette) Johnson, of Villa Rica, Ga. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
