Funeral service for Mr. Joseph N. Parker, 68, of Choccolocco, will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with burial following in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Parker passed away September 21, 2017 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest William and Willie Mae Parker of North Charleston, SC. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife Karen Parker of Choccolocco; and sisters, Maudette Smith, Roberta Lewis (Dennis) and Susan Rienzo (Paul). Mr. Parker served in the United States Army serving in South Korea on the DMZ and in Germany. After his separation from the Army he went on to serve with the Alabama National Guard. Mr. Parker then went on to work for 38 years at the Anniston Army Depot before retiring in 2017. Mr. Parker loved fishing and kayaking at various lakes and rivers across Alabama. He and his wife enjoyed going to different concerts and events where she would act as photographer and he as videographer. He was a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed. Pallbearers will be Joe's fellow coworkers at the Anniston Army Depot, Ross Brown, Keith Rainwater, David Martin, Will Bradley, Chuck Manning, and Jimmy Williams.
