Funeral services for Joyce Estelle Phibbs Snow, 85, of Oxford, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Gray Brown Service Chapel with the Rev. David Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Mrs. Snow passed away March 4, 2013 at her residence. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Snow, of Oxford; a son, Tim Snow (Sharon), of Huntsville, Texas; grandchildren, Andrew Merkel, Carolyn Snow, Kimberly Ashley, Aimee Coutu; great-grandchildren Jordon and Lilliana; one sister, Mildred Allison; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Snow is preceded in death by her husband, Beedie Olen; her parents, Joseph and Hazel Phibbs; her sister, Doris Scarborough and a brother, Joe Phibbs. Pallbearers will be Chris Scarborough, Gregory Lucas, Harold Sparks, Randy Swann, Harold Mooneyham, Dan Morrison. Honorary pallbearers are Johnnie Austin and Wayne Freeman. Mrs. Snow was a native of Tenn., and a resident of Calhoun County. She graduated Louden County High School in Tennessee. Started at Oak Ridge Laboratories working on the 1st Atomic Bomb, then Red Stone Arsenal. She was secretary at Saks High School, Co-Owner of Snow Electric and a member of Meadowbrook Baptist church.
