Funeral service for Mrs. Joyce U. Yancey, 67, will be Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 12 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Hays officiating. Burial to follow at Maple Grove. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Yancey passed on Monday, March 14, 2017, at Grandview in Birmingham. Mrs. Yancey is survived by her husband, Sam Yancey; sons, Ronald Lee Yancey and Michael Vernon (Tracy) Yancey; sisters, Ruth Dement, Charlotte Carr, Teresa (Scott) Bradshaw, Martha (Will) Hunter and Tina Usrey; brothers, Harold (Helen) Usrey, Glenn (Sabrina) Usrey, Clint Usrey and Ermund Usrey; grandchildren, Brittany Yancey, Cody Yancey, Olivia Yancey, Brodie Yancey, Addie-Blake Yancey and Kimberly Ross; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Yancey was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Clem; father, W.C. Usrey; brother, Wallace Usrey. Pallbearers will be nephews. Mrs. Yancey was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. Joyce never met a stranger. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, gran, sister and friend. Her family meant everything to her. She lived out her faith in God through her selfless, caring, and generous actions. Joyce is cherished and loved and will be missed every day. For the last few months she continuously said "God's got me" - and he surely does. Condolences may be left at www.chapelhillfh.com
