A memorial service for Kaden Anthony Fanning, 6, will be held Sunday, August 23, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Historic Jacksonville Train Depot. Kaden died on Monday, August 3, 2015, in Birmingham. Kaden is survived by his parents, Gerald Anthony Fanning and Antonia Rose Rispoli Fanning; his grandparents, "Granna" Linda Fanning, of Jacksonville, "Poppy" Sonny Fanning, of Belcamp, Md.; his aunt, "Missy" Melissa Fanning, of Auburn; his cousin, JohnAnthony Kritlow, of Jacksonville; his uncle, Wendell Richburg, of White Plains; as well as many loving family members of the Zappulla, Iava, and Fanning families in Florida and New England. Kaden was welcomed into this world by his loving family on June 29, 2009. He was looking forward to beginning first grade and was always excited to learn new things in and out of school. He loved doing science experiments, exploring, camping, fishing, puzzles, art projects, math, and playing with his Lego's and superheroes. Always full of love and joy, he brightened up the day of everyone he met and never missed an opportunity to meet someone new and make new friends. He aspired to be The President of the United States, a heart surgeon, a movie star, and a singer. Instead, he is our Forever Hero and in a better place. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be made to Children's Hospital of Birmingham in Kaden's name, 1600 7th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233.
