Oxford - A funeral service for Kayla Mearri Huddleston, 18, will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Eulaton United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. with Sherri Reynolds and the Rev. Henry Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at New Bethel Baptist Church in Oxford. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 24, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home. Kayla passed away on October 19, 2016. She is survived by her mom, Donna McCord (Jeff); dad, Winfred Huddleston (Darla); siblings, Tyler Nelson, Taylor Huddleston, Brittney Stephens, Adrianna Huddleston, Carlie Huddleston, Chase McCord, Paige McCord, Ashlyn Smith and Luke Smith; fiancé, Jacob Hope; grandparents, Edward and Virginia Nelson Sr., Winfred and Valda Huddleston Sr., Diane Hammett and Billy and Clovis McCord; great- grandparents, Mattie Mae Morris, James Crane and Emmerline Huddleston; three nephews and one niece; aunts and uncles, Edward and Patricia Nelson Jr., Chuck and Julie Nelson, James and Abby Huddleston and Michael and Tammy Hanson; best friends, Shelby Nelson, Bayley Box and Lauren Carroll. She is preceded in death by her great- grandfathers, Joe Morris and Brewer Huddleston; great-grandmother, Bobbie Jo Crane and great- grandparents, James and Mary Nelson. Pallbearers will be Chase McCord, Jacob Hope, Cody Hanson, Blake Hanson, Jacob Thorton, Tyler McCord, Mark Smith, Jason Walker and Logan Hambric. Tyler Nelson and Taylor Huddleston will serve as honorary pallbearers. She was a kind, precious soul whose smile could light up a room. She was a friend to many and to know her was to love her. She was a hard worker who would do anything for anybody. She was a member of Eulaton United Methodist Church where she was active member of the youth group. She was a lover of animals and loved with her whole heart. She was a 2016 graduate of Oxford High School. She loved Jacob Hope, who was her soulmate.
