Kenneth "Ken" E. Reid, passed away on December 26, at his residence. Ken was born January 13, 1942 in Anniston, Alabama. He is survived by Pat his wife of 53 years; his three children, Ken Reid (Roxane), Keith Reid (Gidget) and Kevin Reid (Lesley). Survivors also include his brother, Doug Reid; sisters, Faye Bowman (Howard), Pat Cotton (Buddy) and Star Saly (David). He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Vashti Reid; his brother, M.D. Reid. Ken was the beloved grandfather to seven grandchildren, Bethanie Losser (Kevin), Brittany Harbison (Seth), Gavin Reid, Jaden Reid, Trace Reid, Campbell Reid, Caitlin Reid; three great- grandchildren, Reid Harbison, Jaxon Losser and Bryce Losser. The family received friends on Monday, December 28 from 5-8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on today Tuesday, December 29 at 11 a.m. at Meadowbrook Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev Fred Bueto and Dr. John White will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Ben Character, Lee Roy Jones, Jerry Luker, Harold Mooneyham, Dan Morrison and Steve Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be the Jimmy Crouch Sunday School Class of Meadowbrook Baptist Church. For over 48 years, Ken was a dedicated member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church. He graduated with an engineering degree from The University of Alabama and an MBA from Jacksonville State University. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot, where he had over 36 years of service. He served on the Oxford City Council. He also served on the Board of Directors of AOD Federal Credit Union for 11 years. He was a dedicated husband and a wonderful father.
