Kenneth "Ken" Turner, 66, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Kenneth was born on December 19, 1949 in Piedmont to Kenny and Flora Ann (Huggins) Turner. He grew up in Piedmont and worked at Lee Brass and served in the Air Force from 1969-1973. Home for Ken was living and working in Rapid City, S.D. with employment at Cement Plant, Big D, and retiring in June 2013 from City of Rapid City. Ken met Sarah (Chastain) Turner in Rapid City and they married on September 15, 2002 in Rapid City. Together they enjoyed dining out, camping with family and friends, and traveling to Alabama and California. Ken loved spending time with his children, step-children and grandchildren. He enjoyed gathering at Millstone Restaurant with family and friends, being in the outdoors and helping others when help was needed. Ken enjoyed always going the extra mile. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Sarah; four sons, Shawn (Janet) Schooley, of Alexander, N.D., Chris Turner, of Piedmont, Andy (Fawnice) Turner, of Lakewood, Colo., and Charles Turner of Denver, Colo.; one daughter, Sandie (Ken) Leathers, of Rapid City; two stepchildren, Mike (Heather) Chastain, of Rapid City and Bekah Chastain, of Sioux City, Iowa; four grandchildren, Lacey, Dylan and Breanna Schooley, of Alexander, N.D., and Cody Turner, of Piedmont; one sister, Glenda (Earl), of Piedmont; two brothers, Dennis (Lynn) Turner and Clyde (Freeda) Turner, both of Piedmont; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Kenny and Flora Ann (Higgins) Turner. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 29, 2016, at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City, S.D.
