Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Hokes Bluff First Baptist Church for Kenneth L. Browning, 79. Mr. Browning went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, March 23, 2017. The Rev. Randy Smith, The Rev. Ryan Smith and Coleman Lett will officiate. Burial will follow at Hokes Bluff Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home and Cemetery is in charge of the services. Mr. Browning was retired from Goodyear with 38 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War Era. He was an avid hunter, who also, enjoyed growing a wonderful garden and giving a lot of produce away. Mr. Browning was a longtime member of Hokes Bluff First Baptist Church and served as deacon since 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Annie Mae Brittain Browning. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gail Smith Browning; son, Scott (Genette) Browning, of Hokes Bluff; daughters, Crystal (Dane) Yarbrough, of Tuscaloosa, and Penny Browning, of Hokes Bluff; grandchildren, Chandler Nicole Browning, Joshua Moore, Jonah Moore, Jordan Moore, Julianna Moore, Ben Yarbrough, Luke Yarbrough, Will Yarbrough, and Zoe Yarbrough; brothers, Dwight (Ann) Browning, of Southside; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Larry Simpson, Larry Sandlin and Ben Lett. Honorary pallbearers will be Bykota Sunday School, Colby Smith, Dylan Lancaster, Bill Edwards, Jimmy "Bear" Bryant, and Martha Reeves. Special thanks to Amedysis Hospice, Drs. and staff of MICU and ER at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, and the Hokes Bluff Volunteer Fire Department. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hokes Bluff First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 this evening at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered at
