Funeral service for Larry E. Willingham, 72, will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Indian Oaks Christian Church with Minister Scott Blake officiating. Burial will follow at Edgemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Mr. Willingham passed away Friday at RMC. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Judy Willingham; sons, Eddie Willingham (Robin) and Anthony Willingham (Doris); grandchildren, Meagan and Morgan Willingham and Tonya Middlebrook (Mark); great-grandchildren, Chelsey Sanders (Gary) and Kaitlyn Reese; great-great-grandchildren, Kaden Sanders and Kennadie Sanders; sister, Nellie Haynes; brothers, Robert H., Bryant, Cecil and David Willingham; numerous nieces and nephews and close friends, Dan and Rose Cooley. Mr. Willingham is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Thomas and Pearl Hilton Willingham; sisters, Glennis Willingham Ezell, Essie Willingham Gamel and I.V. Willingham Roberts; infant sisters, Lessie and Bessie Willingham; brothers, Arthur, Fred, Louis, Herschel and Donald Willingham; great-great-granddaughter, Tiara Reese. Pallbearers will be friends and family. Honorary pallbearers will be the Retirees of Solutia Corp. Mr. Willingham was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He was a graduate of Alexandria High School, where he ran track, played football and played basketball. He served as a minister for 40 years which included various churches in the Calhoun County area and 30+ years ministering to Golden Living Oxford, Cleburne County Nursing Facility and Autumn Cove Assisted Living. He loved fishing, sports and Alabama football. (RTR) He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved the Lord and lived his life for Him. He will be greatly missed.
