Funeral service for Larry Joe Golden, 70, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel. Mr. Golden passed away June 7, 2016. The Rev. Mike Howard will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery is in charge of the services. Mr. Golden was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. He was a board member of the Webster's Chapel Fire Department and was retired from M & H Valve after 45 years of service. He loved old cars and was known as the local mechanic in Webster's Chapel. He is preceded in death by his parents, James H. and Mary Clark Golden and brothers, Thomas and Jerry Golden. He is survived by his sons, Scott (Sherry) Golden and Chad Golden (Jennifer Johnson); sisters, Joyce (Johnny) Hodge and Betty (Roger) Pruitt; brothers, Travis, Terry and Harvel Golden; mother of his sons, Doris Sally Golden and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Johnny Hodge, Ralph Smith, Joey Urso, Jonathan Green, Jamie Taylor, Larry Marsh, Ray Johnson and Johnny Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be the Webster's Chapel Fire Department. The family will receive flowers or memorials may be made to the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or the Webster's Chapel Fire Department.
