Funeral service for Larry Van Dempsey, 72, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Mack Amis officiating. Private burial will follow in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Janice H. Dempsey; his son, Van Dempsey (Ashley); his grandchildren, Madeline and Jackson Dempsey; his siblings, Peggy Haynes, Rodney Dempsey (Rita), Joseph C. Dempsey, John P Dempsey and Dana Diane Dempsey; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Linda Heath and Bill and Patricia Ledbetter and nieces and nephews. Mr. Dempsey was a member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church where he played in the orchestra and a graduate of Wellborn High School and Jacksonville State University.
