Laura A. Whitaker


Funeral service for Mrs. Laura A. Whitaker, 58, will be Sunday, November 29, 2015, at 3 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with the Rev. Dan Mattox officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 - 8 p.m. on Saturday. Mrs. Whitaker died on Thursday, November 26, 2015, at Jacksonville RMC. Mrs. Whitaker is survived by her husband, Earl G. Whitaker, of Jacksonville; one daughter, Shiloh K. Sharp, of Jacksonville; two sons, James E. (Shawntell) Whitaker, of Saks and Jesse D. Whitaker, of Jacksonville; her mother, Joyce A. Fitzgerald, of Stockton, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Trè Sharp, Victoria Whitaker, Nate Sharp, James Whitaker II, Naomi Sharp, Olivia Sharp and Jayden Sharp; three sisters, Linda (Dree) Rameriz, of Stockton, Calif., Stella (Danny) Castro, of South Gate, Calif. and Rosie Tarango, of Stockton, Calif.; two brothers, Richard Rameriz Jr., of Baja, Calif. and Vincent Rameriz, of Stockton, Calif. and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Whitaker was a member of Word Alive church in Oxford. She loved the Lord with all her heart, putting Him first in her life and loving others as Christ loved the church. Mrs. Whitaker will be greatly missed by her family members and friends. In her spare time, Mrs. Whitaker loved crocheting prayer shawls and blankets for those she avidly prayed for and loved. Mrs. Whitaker is preceded in death by her father, Richard B. Rameriz; one son, Jason Whitaker; one sister, Jolena Rameriz and her step-father, Edward Fitzgerald.
