Funeral service for Lawrence (Pop) Holloway, 93, will be held today, December 14, 2014, at 2 p.m. from Leven's Baptist Church with the Rev. Barrett Holloway and the Rev. Terry Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements Mr. Holloway will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service. Mr. Holloway passed away Friday, December 12, 2014, at his residence. Survivors include two daughters, Annette Holloway, of Wedowee and Connie Holloway, of Wedowee; one son, Larry Holloway (wife, Wyneise), of Wedowee; two grandchildren, Kim Watkins and Kristy Cooper; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Bryant, of Roanoke and Dinah Ramsey, of Ga. and one brother, Forrest Pete Holloway, of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be Tim Holloway, Aaron Ford, Joel Scarbary, Scott Holloway, Chris Holloway, Matthew Brown, and Ryan Addison. A Randolph County native, Mr. Holloway was born on November 11, 1921, the son of McKinley and Eula Young Holloway. He was a member of Leven's Baptist Church and was employed by Southwire. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army. Mr. Holloway was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Winnie L. Holloway; two children, Phillip and Wayne; three sisters and one brother.
