Memorial service for the honorable Lee Daniel Lackey, 86, will be held Monday, December 14, 2015, at 3 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels Church with Father Chris Hartley officiating. Visitation will be held in the Lagarde Hall at St. Michael from 1:30 p.m. until service time. Mr. Lackey passed on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at St. Vincent in Pell City. Mr. Lackey is survived by his wife, Melissa Lackey; adopted daughter, Ashley Lackey; daughter, Kathie (Dennis) Haynes; son, Anthony (Teresa) Lackey; adopted son, Dave Shelnutt; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Lackey was preceded in death by his father, Thauckey Lackey; mother, Ida Hobbs; four sisters and one brother. Mr. Lackey was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County; he was retired from Monsanto Chemical Company after 25 years of service and worked with the Oxford City Schools Transportation Department. Mr. Lackey was a master carpenter as evident of the nativity scene, communion table and candle stick holder in St. Michael's and additional projects in and around the community.
